This past Thursday the Lady Eagles traveled to Ebensburg for the first time ever to face the Lady Red Devils of Central Cambria. The 3-0 win finished out a very successful 3-0 week for the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Red Devils were a tough opponent from the start of the first set. The lead went back and forth from the Eagles to the Devils. But the Lady Eagles were able to pull out a close 25-21 win.
“I think that the energy during this set is really what pushed the girls to keep working hard and continue to stay focused,” sophomore Sidney Goodwin said, “our team plays so much better together when we are all excited and having fun on the court.”
The second set was a blow-out with Tyrone taking a nine-point lead, ending 25-16.
The Eagles earned most of their points from consistent and hard serves and scrappy defense from the back and front row.
In the third set, the Lady Eagles yet again dominated the Red Devils in an even bigger lead 25-14.
The Lady Eagles’ offense was strong and smart at the net. The energy on the court and especially on the bench was loud and exciting.
Tyrone’s clean 3-0 shutout allowed the Eagles to improve their record to 8-5-1.
