The Lady Eagles couldn’t seem to find a rhythm on Monday, losing at home to Hollidaysburg in three sets and dropping their record to 1-4.
The team’s mentality going into the game was very positive, ultimately wanting to have a great night and work as a team.
“I think our team just needs to go back into practice, work harder, use more effective drills, and apply what we have learned,” said sophomore setter Amaya Martin.
The Lady Eagles came out hot in the first set with senior Bailey Woomer getting two aces right off the bat.
However, as the match went on, the team got stuck in serve receive and had a hard time finding the court. As a result, Hollidaysburg pulled away, taking the set 25-12.
In the second set, the Lady Eagles were able to keep pace with the Tigers for a while, but the Lady Tigers pulled away in the end for a 25-15 win.
Tyrone came back in the third set, but Hollidaysburg stayed in control just enough to take the set 25-17, and the match 3-0.
The Lady Eagles will play Bishop Guilfoyle on Thursday, September 11.
