Tyrone’s Comeback Falls Short; Lose to Central Mountain 58-51
Tyrone suffered their 5th loss of the season Monday at Central Mountain, losing 58-51.
After trailing 45-33 through 3 quarters, Tyrone mounted a comeback, bringing the game within 2 points at one point. The comeback was not enough though.
For the most part, Tyrone shut down CMHS’s two main scorers: Kyle Everhart and Brody Baker. It was Central Mountain’s role players that came through when they needed them.
Forward Justin Neff led with 15 points and guard Wyatt Bumbarger finished with 12 points.
For Tyrone, Junior Parker Mitchell led all scorers with 19 points, and Jacob Meredith followed with 12.
Tyrone’s Deadly shooter, Dylan “Deacon” Thomas, was held to only 9 points, and was battling an ankle injury for the most part of the game.
Tyrone’s streaky shooting and inability to score at times also played a big factor in the loss.
“They hit shots when we didn’t. Their role players really stepped up, and it hurt us bad that we didn’t get out on them,” added Junior point guard Jacob Meredith.
Tyrone will look to bounce back Wednesday against Huntingdon.
