The Tyrone boys and girls cross country team ran against Bellwood and Philipsburg at Bellwood on September 10. The course was brand new, and no runners, including the athletes on Bellwoods’ team, had competed on it before.
Tyrone’s Alex Brumbaugh won the boys race in 18:45 and helped the Golden Eagles beat Philipsburg-Osceola, 18-42, but the Golden Eagles lost to Bellwood by one point.
For the girls. Ella Savino was the top Lady Eagle, finishing in 24:27, but Bellwood-Antis won, 14-45, but the Tyrone girls beat Philipsburg-Osceola, 18-38 for the spilt.
BOYS
The top performers for the Golden Eagles were Brumbaugh, who got first place, and Nate Erickson, who finished fourth running a 19:34.
Gavin Brasher and Brenson Davis were next, finishing seventh and eighth.
Jonah Wiker got 11th, and Nick Sutt came in 14th.
“We performed very well on a new course, but we didn’t get the W,” Coach Randy Wilson said.

GIRLS
Ella Savino finished in the top spot for the Lady Eagles. Next and seventh overall was Addison Davis, who finished seventh. Kiana Gardner was 10th, Lily Ammerman was 13th, Grace Corl was 14th, and Laney Corl finished 15th.
“We ran well for this new course, and we need to continue the improvement,” Head Coach Tammy Wills said.
