The Golden Eagles produced yet another easy victory last Friday, winning in resounding fashion over the Rams of Penns Valley 41-7.

“This was an important win for us late in the season,” said senior receiver Nick Getz, “a confidence boost like this can go a long way and hopefully carry over to the playoffs in two weeks.”

Getz had one of his best games of his stellar career, hauling in five catches for 106 yards and a touchdown.

“[Nick] is a special player,” said Head Coach Jason Wilson, “his talents were on full display tonight.”

Quarterback Garrett Hunter threw for 151 yards and two scores on ten completions, while running back Aleic Hunter rushed for 117 yards on twenty carries and also scored twice.

Senior running back Aleic Hunter also eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing mark on the season during the game.

Penns Valley struggled offensively as they were held to 73 yards of total offense on only 47 offensive plays.

Penns Valley’s leading rusher Collison was held to only 28 yards on 15 carries and the Rams gained only 45 yards through the air.

Tyrone senior Bry Taylor also added an interception in Tyrone’s fine defensive effort.

The Golden Eagles will face Chestnut Ridge on Halloween night this Friday.  The game should be an exiting match-up between two 8-1 teams. With playoff positioning on the line, Friday night’s game could be the biggest of the season so far.
