Tyrone Wins Battle of the Eagles
The Golden Eagles easily defeated the BEA Eagles 76-49 on Monday night, improving to 9-2 on the season.
The Eagles were led offensively by seniors Cortlynd Rhoades and Landen DeHaas, who each scored 19.
The other double-digit scorer for the Golden Eagles was senior David Lang with 11.
The outcome was never really in doubt as the Eagles jumped out to a 24-6 lead after one quarter.
Bald Eagle did outscore Tyrone 16-15 in the second quarter but the half still ended with Tyrone up by 17.
Tyrone closed the door on any chance of a BEA comeback by outscoring the Bald Eagles by 17 in the third quarter.
Tyrone’s perimeter shooting was on display with nine three-pointers on the evening: three each from DeHaas and Lang, and one each from Keegan Gwinn, Zac LeGars, and Rhoades.
Tyrone also won the JV game 48-40.
The boys are back in action tomorrow at home vs. Bellefonte.
