Tyrone Track Takes Three of Four at Clearfield
The Tyrone track team traveled to Clearfield to take on the Bison and the Mounties of Philipsburg Osceola this past Tuesday. The boys came out victorious with a sweep of the meet, while the girls split, beating PO but losing to Clearfield by 6 points.
On the boys distance side, the team of Tommy Sutt, Rory Quigley, Phillip Morroni, and Aden Detwiler ran an impressive 9:22 in the 4×800 relay to earn gold.
Aiden Detwiler earned 1st in the 800 with a time of 2:15 and 2nd in the mile with a time of 5:11.
In the sprints, Kolten Miller earned first in the 100 with a time of 11.84 and second in the 400 with a time of 54.05.
The team of Deegan Baldauf, Andrew Weaver, Brady Ronan, and Kolten Miller ran a 4×100 time of 46.19, beating Clearfield by over 2 seconds.
Deegan Baldauf earned second in the 200 with a time of 25.46, and Austin Lucas was close behind with a time of 25.55.
In the 4×400, the team of Colton Veres, Phillip Morroni, Seth Hoover, and Evan Chichester ran a 4:00.82, giving them a second place 0.24 second behind Clearfield who ran a 4:00.58.
In the field, Andrew Weaver won the high jump with a jump of 5’10” and the triple jump with a 38’8.”
Brady Ronan was close behind in the high jump with a 5’8”, and also won the long jump with a 19’9.50” jump. Justin Jackson earned a 2nd in the pole vault with a 9’6” jump. Keegan Gwinn had an impressive day getting 2nd in the shot put with a 37’8”, 2nd in the discus with a 100’2”, and 1st in the javelin with a 144’8”.
On the girls distance side, Stephanie Ramsey earned a 2nd in the mile with a time of 6:20. Eliza Vance took 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2:45.
For sprints, Mackenzie Latchford had a successful day winning the 100 and 200 with a 13.28 and a 27.28.
Rebecca Lewis took 3rd in the 100 with a time of 14.06, 2nd in the 400 with a time of 1:03.15, and 3rd in the 200 with a time of 28.90. Eliza Vance was close behind Lewis in the 400 with a time of 1:03.97.
Eva Toth took 3rd in the 100 hurdles with a 18.29. Avalyn Moore earned 3rd in the 300 hurdles with a 58.39. With the 4×400 relay, the team of Stephanie Ramsey, Rebecca Lewis, Eliza Vance, and Avalyn Moore ran a 4:37.79, giving them second place.
In the field, Reagan Irons and Natalie Saltsgiver took 1st and 2nd respectively, both with a 5’0” jump. The duo of jumpers also took 1st and 3rd respectively with a 32’8” jump and 30’2” jump.
In the long jump, the Tyrone girls swept behind Mackenzie Latchford (17’0.50”), Reagan Irons (15’11”), and Natalie Saltsgiver (15’4.50”). Rayann Walls had a successful day with the throwing events with a 3rd in the shot put throwing a 23’6” and a 3rd in the discus with a 70’2”. Victoria Reese took 2nd in the javelin with a 86’9”.
The teams hope to carry their success into the Bedford invite on Saturday.
