Both boys’ and girls Tyrone Track teams headed to the tri-meet at Bellwood undefeated. Unfortunately, the winning streak for both teams ended with the boys beating Bellwood but falling to Hollidaysburg, and the girls losing to both Hollidaysburg and Bellwood.
For the boys team, the Golden Tigers beat Tyrone with a score of 81-69 and the Golden Eagles dominated the Blue Devils by a 111-39 score.
For the girls team, the Lady Tigers beat Tyrone 91-58, and the Lady Blue Devils got by the Lady Eagles by a 92-58 margin.
BOYS:
Tyrone boys had great success against rival Bellwood-Antis, although the depth of Hollidaysburg proved to be too much.
Sophomore Drew Irons had a great day as he won the 400-meter with a time of 53.0, placed second in the 200 meter, placed third in the 100 meter, and was a part of the 4×400 that placed second.
Senior Aiden Detwiler won the 800-meter with a time of 2:10.1.
Sophomore Mason Emigh won the triple jump with a jump of 40-0 feet and was a part of the winning 400 meter relay team that included sophomore Caleb Whitby, senior Austin Lucas, and senior Seth Hoover.
Sophomore Kyler Suhoney won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.0.
Senior Tom Sutt placed second in both the 1600 meter and the 3200 meter.
Senior Dante Novak placed third in the 400 meter and was a part of the winning 3200-meter relay team with teammates junior Alex Brumbaugh, Tom Sutt, and Aiden Detwiler.
Junior Ashton Emigh placed second in the javelin with a throw of 141-8.
GIRLS:
Sophomore Josie Dicken was a double winner for the Lady Eagles, placing first in both shot put and discus. She threw 30-9.5 in shot and 83-7 in discus.
Sophomore Sarah Chichester got her personal best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.3 seconds. She also placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.1 seconds. She was also part of the winning 400-meter relay team, which includes junior Nicole Ramsey, senior Alayna Greene, and junior Claire Lehman.
Junior Nicole Ramsey placed third in the 200-meter dash with the time of 27.4 seconds. She also placed third in the long jump, jumping a length of 15-7 and placed second in triple jump with the length of 33-5.
“Even though the meet didn’t go how we planned, I think our performance was pretty good under the conditions we were in,” said Ramsey.
Junior Claire Lehman placed third in the 300-meter hurdles with the time of 51.64 seconds.
The 1600-meter relay including: sophomore Sarah Chichester, junior Alyssa Houck, sophomore Taylor Wrye and junior Claire Lehman, took an early lead on the Blue Devils and Tigers. They finished second with a time of 4 minutes and 26 seconds.
Freshman Lola Woomer placed third in high jump with the height of 4-8.
Senior Kylie Nelson placed first in javelin and she threw 99-4.
