The Tyrone boys tennis team was still looking for their first win of the season on Senior Night. They nearly pulled it off last night at home but fell short to Clearfield in a 3-2 defeat.
Tyrone’s victories came in the first singles match with sophomore Wyatt Walls and the first doubles match with seniors Logan Harpster and Tyler Weston.
Walls fared well in an overall exciting match. He took the first set 6-4, but dropped the second set 4-6. However, Walls remained resilient and gutted out the third set for a 6-3 victory.
Harpster and Weston had a less exciting match, as a third set wasn’t necessary. Still, the first set was a competitive one at 6-4, while the second set was a more dominant victory by a score of 6-1.
“Our first match against them was close, and I knew we’d have a chance in this one. I’m glad we were able to play well and get the win,” senior Logan Harpster said.
The team returns to the court on Tuesday, 4/15 at Hollidaysburg.
