Super Bowl time is here again. For the second year in a row, our home state Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles will not be featured in Super Bowl XLVII.
Instead, the game in New Orleans will include the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.
There are some local 49ers and Ravens fans at Tyrone Area school district.
Local Ravens fan, Jim Marquette, is rooting for the Ravens to win the Super Bowl. “Ravens have more drive and reason for winning.”
When asked how he became a Baltimore fan, Marquette said, “I’ve always been a fan, because I like their style of defense.”
San Francisco fan, Shane Geis, is rooting for the 49ers. “Our offense and defensive numbers say that they are the better team. They also have Colin Kaepernick”
Kaepernick is the new, 2nd year quarterback for the 49ers. Because of previous quarterback Alex Smith’s injury, Kaepernick has been starting since week 11. Geis does not believe that Kaepernick’s inexperience will be a problem in the game.
Mark Lewis is a local Steelers fan and he wants the Ravens to be victorious. Although the Ravens are a known rival of Pittsburgh, he says that he doesn’t want San Francisco to tie the Steelers with 6 Super Bowl Rings.
Nathaniel Soellner is also a Pittsburgh fan. “I don’t mind who wins the game. I dislike both teams very much.”
Despite the Steelers not being in the Super Bowl, Soellner will be watching the game because he loves the game.
The game will be in New Orleans on February 3rd, 2013 and it will be broadcasted on CBS.
