The Lady Eagles defeated the Bellefonte Raiders on Tuesday, September 16, improving their record to 3-4. The team hopes to continue this run and extend their winning streak to achieve a positive record.
“I thought we played very well together as a team, and we were able to have good rallies, working as a team. I hope we continue to play like that the rest of the season,” said senior middle hitter Elise Volders.
In set one, the team came out very energetic and with a lot of excitement. They found a way to put the ball away offensively, but the key component of Tuesday’s win was ultimately the serve and pass game. Seniors Bailey Woomer and Rylan Crowell contributed with seven and six aces.
Set two, the Lady Eagles dropped energy and gave Bellefonte many points from their mistakes, ending the set 25-20.
Tyrone wanted to make the night quick, so they fought back and focused on their serve receive and defense, which allowed them to work together and get their hitters to help them sign out easier, which led them to win that set 25-20.
The team really worked as a team both defensively and offensively. Everyone did their job and showed up for each other.
“I think that’s something that we really have been working on. I know we talk about it all the time in the practice gym, and I think it really showed,” senior outside hitter Rylan Crowell said.
