Tyrone Swimmers Notch Double Win vs. MC Stingrays
After a two hour drive to Marion Center, the Tyrone boys and girls team stole the double win from the Stingrays. The girls dominated with a score of 100-69, while the boys were comfortably ahead with a 91-79 score.

Girls: Tyrone- 100, Marion Center- 69
Mae Decker, Anastasia Slobodnik, Cate Baran, and Fiona McConnell earned a first place in the 200 medley relay. Two second places were scored by the girls in both the 200 and 400 free relay.
The only double winner from the girls was McConnell, placing first in both the 50 free and 100 breaststroke.
Other individual solo winners were M. Decker and A. Slobodnik.
M. Decker worked to a first place in the 100 back and a second in the 500 free. She improved her previous time by four seconds in the 500 with 6:12.37.
A. Slobodnik earned her first in the 100 free and placed second in the 100 breast. She worked off a second from her previous breaststroke time, finishing with a 1:20.22.
“I think we did really good. We just need [to continue] to work on the little things. [I hope we] win our last [couple] meets,” said Alli Hosko.
Senior Hosko secured a second place in the 200 free, dropping her time by three seconds (2:32.76). She also placed third in the 100 fly.
Baran worked for two second places in both the 50 free and 100 free. She dropped a second from the previous meet, earning a 1:05.25 in the 100 free.
Bishop Guilfoyle freshman Sarah Manna placed second in the 200 IM.
“I think we did a great job. We had fun and did our best,” said senior Taylor Hoover.
T. Hoover placed third in the 200 IM.
Other third places included Emma Hoover in the 200 free, Hannah Gampe in the 500 free, and Olivia Thomas in the 100 back.
Bellwood senior Saige McElwain worked off a second in the 50 free with a final time of 30.78.
Boys: Tyrone- 91, Marion Center- 79
The team of Jacob Decker, Matt Lenze, Blake Slobodnik, and Austin Quinn placed first in both the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. Other relay teams secured a second and two third places.
Three boys were double winners on the guys team: B. Slobodnik, J. Decker, and Lenze.
B. Slobodnik placed first in both the 200 (2:04.19) and 500 free (5:54.66).
J. Decker won both the 200 IM (2:27.38) and the 100 back (1:07.46).
Lenze worked to two first places in the 50 free (26.09) and 100 breast (1:11.51).
“We did a great job. I’m glad that everyone has made such great progress this season,” said Quinn.
Tyrone senior Quinn earned a second in the 100 free and a third in the 200 free.
Sophomore Carter Maceno secured a second place in the 500 free, dropping a second from his previous time.
Freshman Nick Delbaggio placed third in the 200 IM. He also improved from the last meet in the 100 breast by a second.
“We did well [which is expected]. [I like how] we all cheer for each other,” said Jules Collet.
Bishop Guilfoyle exchange student Collet earned a third in the 100 fly, working off a second from the last meet.
Bryce Bauer and Brendan Kowalski both secured third in their individual events. Bauer in the 100 back and Kowalski in the 50 free.
Kaitlyn Kinsley dropped a second from her previous 50 free time.
