Tyrone Splits with BEA in Extras
Miller, McClure, helped Tyrone breakthrough in the 15th of a game that was suspended from opening day
After an opening day marathon for Tyrone and Bald Eagle that was called for darkness after the 12th inning, the game resumed on April 20th knotted at five, and it did not disappoint.
After putting two batters on in the top of the 13th, it looked like it might be an open-and-shut case for Tyrone, but Bald Eagle’s defense came through getting three outs before Tyrone could score.
Bald Eagle then threatened to take the lead in the bottom of the inning, but Tyrone gave them a taste of what their defense could do, with Landon Postreich getting out of the jam without giving up any runs.
Tyrone did finally break through, but it took until the 15th inning, where a clutch single by freshman Brandon McClure scored sophomore Gayge Miller from second.
Tyrone held their own in the bottom of the 15th and came out on top in the marathon of a game that started on opening day.
The second game played directly after the resumed game also went into extra innings.
Sophomore Ashton Walk led the Golden Eagles with three hits, but Tyrone fell to Bald Eagle Area, 4-3, in eight innings.
