Tyrone Percussion Places First and Guard Places Forth At Chapter 11 Championships.
The Tyrone indoor percussion ensemble performed at the chapter 11 championships at Tyrone High School this past weekend and placed first in their division with a total score of 85.90. The indoor color guard achieved a score of 66.88 and placed forth in their division.
Tyrone senior Kara Mills was awarded the Sheetz performer of the week award by the judges after performing with the colorguard and the percussion ensemble.
“Our goal is to clean and improve what we have to make it the most musically engaging and entertaining show that we possibly can for Wildwood, New Jersey,” said Band Director David Hock.
The remaining competition left in the 2017 indoor season is the TIA Atlantic Coast Championships in Wildwood, New Jersey.
In the current TIA rankings the percussion ensemble is ranked sixth with a 86.00 and the guard is ranked 32nd with a 66.88.
The Tyrone indoor percussion and color guard will travel to Wildwood, New Jersey on Wednesday May 3rd,2017. The color guard preliminaries are on May 4th,2017 and the percussion preliminaries are on Thursday May 4th ,2017. The guard finals are on Saturday May 6th 2017 if the guards competes in finals. The percussion finals are on Saturday May 6th, 2017 if the percussion places into finals.
