The Tyrone Golden Eagle Marching Band Home Show “Music in the Valley” competition will take place at Gray Veterans Memorial Field this Saturday, October 10, 2015.

The event begins at 6:00 pm.  The Tyrone High School band is scheduled to perform their show at 7:45 pm.

There will be a total of six bands competing: Johnstown, Huntington, Westmont Hilltop, Conemaugh Township, Brockway Area, Tyrone, and a special performance by the St. Francis University Marching Band.

The theme of this year’s show James Bond.

Special guests, the Saint Francis University Marching Band will perform in exhibition after Tyrone. The SFU Marching Band is under the direction of Dr. Daniel Atwood. The assistant band director is Brian Harris.

During intermission between performing bands, Tyrone Band Alumni will also be recognized in a short ceremony.

Since Tyrone is the host of the competition, their score will not counted in the Tournament of Bands rankings but will still be judged by the group of judges From the NJA (National Judges Association).

Band director David Hock would like to ask all residents of Tyrone to come out and support the Tyrone Marching Band this Saturday at Gray Veterans Memorial Field for their Music in the Valley competition.
