Tyrone majorettes hold first place title for the fourth straight week
Tyrone majorette and color guard teams traveled to Central Cambria to compete in the Wolf’s Performing Arts Competition on Saturday, March 21.
The majorettes scored a 71.92 out of a possible 100 which ranks them first in their class.
The color guard scored a 61.62, earning second place out of the three teams at the competition. They are currently in 21st place out of 28 overall.
Majorette senior Megann Koegler also won the baton twirling contest, also known as a twirl off. The contest consisted of a series of tosses, with twirlers being eliminated for missing a toss. The competition began with 15 twirlers and dwindled down to Koegler and one other.
Koegler did a toss double spin and caught it backhanded to win the contest.
The majorettes have a bye week this weekend, but the color guard will be performing at Westmont Hilltop on Saturday afternoon.
