Tyrone Boys Soccer loses 5-2 to Bellefonte and 3-0 to Bald Eagle

Despite Tyrone’s hard play they weren’t able to win this week

Bellefonte 5, Tyrone 2

Sophomore Alex Schmoke scored Tyrone’s only two goals in 5-2 loss to Bellefonte on Monday.

Bellefonte were able to test the keeper multiple times in the first half and finally able to score a header off a cross with 27:00 left in the first half.

Bellefonte quickly scores their second goal after Tyrone wasn’t able to readjust their defense.

Tyrone’s first goal came from sophomore Alex Schmoke on a bullet header off a perfectly placed chip pass to make the score 2-1.

Bellefonte was able to stomp out any hope for a Tyrone comeback by scoring 3 quick goals right out of the half.

Alex Schmoke scored his second goal after he floated the ball into the top left corner off a great pass from senior Aaron Andrews. The final score was 5-2.

Bald Eagle 3, Tyrone 0

Tyrone Boys Soccer played hard against Bald Eagle but ultimately couldn’t convert their chances into goals, and lost 3-0.

Bald Eagle were able to get some shots off in the beginning of the game but Tyrone were able to hold them off. Tyrone keeper Alex Roberts made multiple saves within the box after a “melee” ensued following a corner. At the half Tyrone and Bald Eagle were tied 0-0.

Quickly into the second half a shot from Bald Eagle bounced off the foot of Tyrone’s keeper into the goal to make the score 1-0.

Bald Eagles second goal came off a corner which bounced off of Tyrone’s defense and unfortunately going into the goal.

The third goal was scored after Bald Eagle were able to get Tyrone’s Keeper to focus on one player who then played the ball to another who tapped the ball into the goal.

“Our needed to get readjusted to playing on turf, we also needed to play a better possession game, but we played hard.” Tyrone head coach Nick Miller.
