Tyrone Indoor Percussion Prepares for 2018 Home Show
The Tyrone Indoor Percussion Ensemble is currently preparing for the 2018 TIA season with their third annual home show on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10:00 am in the high school gymnasium.
Tyrone will host a total of 39 groups from schools around the area.
General Admission tickets are $8 and children aged five and under are free.
Tyrone will perform at 4:34 pm after the St. Mary’s High School percussion and will end the home show due to Tyrone being the host of the competition.
A total of four seniors of the ensemble will make their final performance at a Tyrone show. They are Derek Wilson, Zack Webster, Harley Stimer-Heywood, and Rachel Robison.
The members of the percussion ensemble are looking for student volunteers to help make the show a success. Tyrone band director David Hock is looking for people to help in various jobs around the middle school and high school. The volunteers will receive volunteer hours based on how long they are there to make the show a success.
“To those who don’t have students in indoor percussion, we invite you to help us. Tyrone students who are not on the indoor percussion ensemble can volunteer and I will sign for community service hours. If you have friends at school who would be willing to volunteer, feel free to invite them. We welcome any help that will ensure the show runs smoothly and that we continue to bring units and people to our show in future years,” said Hock.
The indoor percussion ensemble hopes that the community will attend the show and help support the group for their accomplishments throughout their upcoming indoor season.
