Tyrone Indoor Percussion Places First at Westmont Hilltop
The Tyrone indoor percussion ensemble performed at Westmont Hilltop High School this past weekend and placed first in their division with a total score of 75.80. The indoor percussion group achieved a 10.8 point jump over two weeks of not performing at a show and rehearsing and perfecting the show for future performances.
“I’m very happy with our jump in score and we are simply continuing to add more onto the show and improve our musicality and ability to work together each week.” said Band Director David Hock.
The remaining competitions remaining in the 2017 indoor season are: St.Mary’s, Johnstown, TIA Chapter 11 Championships at Tyrone High School, and the Atlantic Coast Championships in Wildwood New Jersey.
In the current TIA rankings the percussion team is ranked 10th with a 75.80 and the guard is ranked 40th with a 59.98. The percussion ensemble gained two spots while the guard stayed the same rank after two weeks of not performing at a show.
The Tyrone Indoor Percussion and Colorguard will travel to St. Mary’s Area High School on April 1st, 2017. The percussion will perform at 2:00 pm and will begin the indoor show. The color guard will perform at 3:38 and will go up against Elizabeth Forward High School.
