The Tyrone indoor percussion ensemble performed at Huntingdon High School this past weekend and placed first in their division with a total score of 65.00. The guard placed third with a total score of 59.98.

“We had a decent performance at Huntingdon and our score did increase to show that improvement. We have several weeks to prepare for the Westmont show. The goal is to have a significant amount more of our show finished by that time. We are continually improving week by week and as always, we hope to keep increasing out score,” said Band Director David Hock.

The remaining competitions remaining in the 2017 indoor season are: Westmont Hilltop, St.Mary’s, Johnstown, and the TIA chapter 11 championships at Tyrone High School.

In the current TIA rankings the percussion team is ranked 13th with a 65.00 and the guard is ranked 33rd with a 59.98. The percussion ensemble dropped two spots while the guard got their current rank after the guard changed classes.

The Indoor Percussion and Colorguard will not be traveling to a competition this week or next week due to no shows in the area on March 11th and the Tyrone Irish Heritage Parade on March 18th. The next performance will be on Saturday, March 25th at Westmont Hilltop High School.
