The Tyrone Indoor Percussion team will perform in the Tyrone High School this Saturday at 10 am.

This year the music was selected to be themed after Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

This theme was the product of a joint decision between Band Instructor David Hock and Percussion Instructor Rob Bonsell.

“Rob Bonsell is a band parent who is also a phenomenal drummer and great teacher, so he has played a big role in helping Indoor happen,” said Hock, “Rob teaches mostly the battery or drum instruments while I teach mainly the keyboard instruments.”

Tyrone’s Indoor Percussion team for this year is comprised of Meaghan Foster, Trinity Mallon, Shyanne Webster, Xena Sieminski, Evan Snyder, Elijah Svidergol, Haylee Foster, Joseph Davis, Jadyn Smith, Emily Detwiler, Laci Daniel, Vincent Gray, Paige Webster, Sara Herr, Abigail Roberts, Logan Smyth, Kaleigh Brodzina, Tyler Vanish, Jacob Greene, Clifford Roberts, Cole Hunter, and Emma Zimmerman.

The team members are excited about this year’s show.

“Competing gives me a great feeling of accomplishment,” said percussionist Paige Webster,”I’ve been in an indoor since 8th grade, so about for years now. I joined because I wanted to; its fun. I play bass 5 which is the biggest bass drum we have.”

following their first competition on the 29th the Indoor Percussion team will compete on March 7th at Huntington High School, on March 21st at Trinity High School, on April 18th at Johnstown High School, Regionals will be held on April 25th at Saint Mary’s High School, and from April 28th to May 3rd the band will be attending Wildwood for their final competition.
