Tyrone Indoor Percussion and Colorguard Host Successful Home Show
Tyrone held their first competition for the 2017 TIA (Tournament Indoor Association) season at the Tyrone Middle and High School on February 25, 2017. Tyrone hosted a total of 37 units from different schools in the area.
The competition began at 10:00 am with the majorette and percussion groups. Tyrone percussion achieved a score of 63.80 for the first performance of the year.
“We will continue to develop understanding of the music and develop musical expression for the music we know and we will also continue learning the remainder of the music throughout the coming weeks,” said Tyrone Band Director David Hock.
Following the percussion performances, the colorguard caption began their performances. The Tyrone guard achieved a score of 61.47 in their first performance of the year.
At an indoor competition, the groups are placed into a class. Each class has a specific skill set for the groups to perform. The Tyrone percussion is in the Scholastic A Stationary percussion caption while the guard is in the Scholastic Regional class in the guard caption.
The indoor percussion and colorguard will next travel to Huntington Area High School to compete on Saturday March 4th, 2017. The percussion will perform at 12:58 pm and the guard will perform at 2:53 pm.
