Tyrone Hospital and TASD to Sponsor Women’s Health Awareness Night
The event is free and will include dinner, door prizes and giveaways
The Breast Cancer and Women’s Health Institute at Tyrone Regional Health Network and the Tyrone Area School District are co-hosting an event for adolescent health and women’s awareness from 6 to 7:30 pm in the Tyrone High School cafeteria on October 17th.
“This is a great opportunity for mothers and daughters and other women in the family to get together for a nice outing and also learn about important women’s health issues,” said Theresa Yanchetz, Director of Marketing and volunteer services at Tyrone Regional Health Network.
The event is free and open to the public and will include dinner, door prizes, and giveaways.

The keynote speaker is Susan Robinson, the Director of Athletics at St. Francis University. Robinson, a former Penn State basketball player, was a 1992 NCAA All American and NCAA women’s basketball player of the year.
Three other presenters will speak as well. Dr. Kennita Burns-Johnson will discuss breast changes and when to see a doctor. Dr. Kelly Briggs, the Medical Director of Radiology at Tyrone Regional Health Network will discuss women’s imaging, and Dr. Kenneth Lee a gynecologist, will speak about sexually transmitted diseases and changes during a women’s menstrual cycle.
