The Lady Eagles beat the Lady Blue Devils of Bellwood in a 3-0 match win on Thursday, October 12 in Bellwood.
The Lady Eagles have been looking forward to this match all season, and the rivalry game brought out the best in both teams.
“I think that we played our game. We proved that we wanted the win more than they did,” senior defensive specialist Bri Harris said.
The Eagles defense stayed strong and was able to pick up anything thrown at them. Their offense dominated at the net and swept Bellwood in all three sets.
The first set was very competitive, ending in a 25-23 Tyrone win. The Lady Eagles had a slow start but picked things up mid-set and were able to finish strong.
The second set their energy in the gym was high, and the ladies swept the Blue Devils 25-12.
In the third set, the Eagles kept up their momentum and took the match with a 25-18 match win, and the Eagles couldn’t be more happy to take home this win.
“We kept the same energy throughout the whole night. This was a huge game for us and I think it improved our confidence and we’re ready to keep this streak going,” said Harris.
The final regular season game takes place tonight at home against the Lady Bearcats of Huntingdon.
