Tyrone FFA Shoots for the Future

The Tyrone Area FFA Chapter held its annual Clay Shoot on Sunday, October 6 at the Warriors Mark Wingshooting Lodge and Kennels in Ginter. One hundred people attended the event with 72 shooters, 13 FFA members, and 15 additional guests who observed and enjoyed the day. 

“I liked getting the chance to shoot and winning made it even better,” said junior FFA member Wade Hendrickson, who won the overall highest junior shooter award. 

The chapter would like to congratulate the following participants who won their classes: Class A- John Kephart, Class B- Ron Ayers Jr., Class C- Tim Ashcroft, Class D- Kevin Ferner, Class E- George Letcher, and Overall Highest Junior Shooter- Wade Hendrickson. The winning participants will each receive a $25 gift card.

According to Tyrone FFA Chapter President Kaylee Updike, everyone had a great time and were happy to be there. Some guests visited to observe participants shoot, to socialize, and to enjoy the lunch. The FFA members who worked served as trappers, group leaders, and sometimes scorers for the participating shooting groups. 

“I think it was a great day overall. Everyone had a lot of fun and this year’s shoot was a success,” said Updike.
