Tyrone’s offense has gone cold, as it suffered its second defeat of the season on Friday, April 4 after winning five straight in a 9-1 loss to Bishop McCort.
McCort accumulated 13 hits and held the Golden Eagles to only three. Tyrone’s three hits came off singles from Ashton Walk, Owen Oakes, and Jon Stroup.
Tyrone’s only run came in the top of the fifth inning.
This is not a good sign for the Golden Eagles, who were averaging 8 runs per game and stalled out to 1.5 runs the past two games.
Catcher Jonathan Delia paved the way to the McCort win. He had a triple in the first inning and then pieced one over the left field wall in the 3rd inning.
Pitcher Bradyn Jarvis shut down the Golden Eagles’ offense. He struck out 7 and allowed no runs.
While the Golden Eagles’ miscommunications had an impact on their loss, putting up 1 run and giving up 9 was not going to get the job done.
Bishop McCort improved their record to 2-2, meanwhile Tyrone fell to 5-2. The Golden Eagles will look to get back on track Tuesday, April 7, at Central with the first pitch coming at 4:30.
Central is currently playing extremely well, posting a record of 4-1. This will be a tough test for the Golden Eagles.
