The Golden Eagles finished out the regular season strong by blowing out the other Eagles from Bald Eagle.

Tyrone played strong with a run-and-gun style offense. Defensively, they kept Bald Eagle guessing by changing formations after a few possessions.

Senior Parker Mitchell scored a game-high 24, and senior point guard Jake Meredith scored 18.

Although it was a very high-scoring game, Tyrone’s sharpshooter Dylan Thomas was off all night. He scored 13 points and had two triples, but had he shot more efficiently, the Eagles would have finished with a lot more.

“We really wanted to finish out the season with a W, and none of us wanted to go to Johnstown in the playoffs. This win was one of the biggest of the year,” said senior Jake Meredith.

Tyrone completed the regular season 17-5 overall, and 11-3 in the Mountain League. The Golden Eagles finished as the Mountain League runner-up behind rival Huntingdon.

Looking ahead, Tyrone will have at least one home playoff game, most likely against Johnstown. The game will be held sometime next week.

Tyrone will need to improve if they want to move past Johnstown, given that they lost by 17 last time they matched up
