Tyrone Comes Up Short Against Windber
After a long bus ride for Tyrone and an emotional victory the night before, the Golden Eagles came out flat and were unable to overcome a hot shooting Winber team ithis past Wednesday, losing 69-62.
Scoring for Tyrone was led by four seniors; Cortlynd Rhoades with 16, followed by Landen DeHaas with 15, Keegan Gwinn with 11, and David Lang with 10.
Tyrone got off to a slow start, and Windber started hot, getting up by 12 at one point in the first half.
Tyrone fought back in the second half, but it wasn’t enough.
The Golden Eagles struggled with rebounding and boxing out. They threw everything they had at the Ramblers, but Tyrone was clearly having an off night. The opposite was true for Windber, who had 6 three-pointers and led in rebounds.
Tyrone had a comeback early in the 3rd but fell short.
Tyrone’s big men couldn’t stay out of foul trouble, and Windber was consistently hitting shots.
The result was the third loss of the season for the Golden Eagles, who’s record fell to 11-3.
