EE: How many years have you been cheering for?

Kasey Daughenbaugh: 8 years

EE: Why did you start cheerleading?

KD: I started in pee-wee and just stuck to it 

EE: What is your favorite memory?

KD: Cheer comp 2022

EE: What’s your favorite part about cheer?

KD: Being up close to the game 

EE: How has cheer impacted you?

KD: It taught me how important good communication is and that what you say/how you say it matters.

EE: What’s your favorite cheer?

KD: Defense, hit them hard and knock them for a loss

EE: What are you going to miss the most?

KD: Stunting with my group

EE: What are your plans after high school?

KD: Go to college to get my B.S.N and eventually become a Nurse Anesthetist.

EE: Advice to future cheerleaders?

KD: Take advantage of the good times while you have them.

EE: What’s something you’d like to see improve within cheer? 

KD: Student body involvement at games.

EE: How many years have you been cheering for?

Lily Eckley: 11 years, 5 of which were competitive 

EE: Why did you start cheerleading?

LE: I wanted to be cool and I thought it was along those lines

EE: What is your favorite memory?

LE: Me, Makayla, and Ashelyn dancing outside of the school after practice waiting for our rides

EE: What’s your favorite part about cheer?

LE: Stunting 

EE: How has cheer impacted you?

LE: It gave me lifelong friendships.

EE: What’s your favorite cheer?

LE: Either F-I-G-H-T [Fight, fight, fight] or Defense hit ‘em hard and knock ‘em for a loss

EE: What are you going to miss the most?

LE: The Friday night lights. 

EE: What are your plans after high school?

LE: To go to Penn State and get a degree in elementary education

EE: Advice to future cheerleaders?

LE: Keep your head up

EE: What’s something you’d like to see improve within cheer? 

LE: A lot of the social pressure to look/act a certain way to be ‘qualified’ for cheer in people’s eyes. Anyone can cheer and there should be no one feeling bad about it.

Eagle Eye: How many years have you been cheering for?

Jasmine Walk: I have been cheering for three years on varsity 

EE: Why did you start cheerleading?

JW: I started cheerleading because I saw my aunt cheering which made me want to as well

EE: What is your favorite memory?

JW: Junior year cheer camp at Pine Forest 

EE: What’s your favorite part about cheer?

JW: Meeting all the new people, and making so many new friends

EE: How has cheer impacted you?

JW:  Cheer has made me more confident in myself 

EE: What’s your favorite cheer?

JW: Eagles stand up and yell, go, fight, win! 

EE: What are you going to miss the most?

JW: All of my friends and Friday night games

EE: What are your plans after high school?

JW: Go to school for nursing and then get my masters in midwifery 

EE: Advice to future cheerleaders?

JW: Don’t give up when it gets hard, just keep pushing and you will get to where you want to be

EE: What’s something you’d like to see improve within cheer? 

JW: I’d like to see people engage with the cheerleaders more, and see the team grow in numbers, friendship, and material.

Makayla is a sophomore in her first year at Tyrone Eagle Eye. At school, she is a member of the Tyrone varsity cheerleading team and NHS. Outside of school, she writes stories, reads, and spends time with her family and friends. She even hopes to be a published author in the near future, which is why she signed up for the Eagle Eye. Howard looks forward to seeing how much she can accomplish with her stories this year and hopefully more to come.

Anna Myers is a junior and the Photo Editor of Eagle Eye. This is her first year in Eagle Eye but hopes she can positively impact its staff and the community alike. Outside of school, she enjoys volunteering at a local animal shelter, drawing, painting, and playing video games with friends. She is a part of the Ski Club and is in the Aevidum core group. After high school, she hopes to major in mathematical science whether that be geoscience, chemistry, physics, or biology.
