Tyrone Boys Soccer win 4-2 against Penns Valley Rams

Tyrone Boys Soccer scores 3 goals in second half to come back against Penns Valley Rams

Tyrone made an impressive comeback and scored four times in win over Penns Valley on Tuesday.

The game started out badly for the Eagles. Penns Valley were able to convert on a penalty kick to make the score 0-1 only two minutes into the game. One minute later they scored again off an error by Tyrone in the box to put Tyrone down by two within the opening five minutes.

But Tyrone refused to give up. Sophomore Andrew Pearson turned the momentum back in Tyrone’s favor when he headed the ball into the goal on a rebound which bounced off the Rams keeper’s gloves.

Early in the second half, freshman Corey Johnston was able to score after multiple chances to tie the game at 2-2.

Quickly after that goal Andrew Pearson was able to score his second goal of the night on a beautifully placed ball from Senior Aaron Andrews who was able to energize Tyrone’s offense after being moved from defense to the midfield.

Alex Schmoke scored the fourth and final goal for Tyrone to finish off an impressive comeback after being down by 2 early in the game.

“Aaron really energized the offense, he started a lot of great offensive possessions for us, he was a great facilitator,” said Tyrone head coach Nick Miller.

Tyrone’s next opponent will be the Philipsburg Mounties in Philipsburg Thursday night. Tyrone has already beaten the Mounties 2-0 earlier this season.
