Tyrone Boys Soccer Senior Night Spoiled with 8-4 Loss to Penns Valley

Tyrone also lost 6-1 to Bald Eagle on Monday, and 4-2 to Dubois in an end of the year scrimmage on Saturday.

Tyrone honored Hunter Jackson, Austin Quinn, Austin Taylor, and Aaron Andrews during their regular season senior night finale but unfourtunatley went on to lose 8-4 to Penns Valley.

In the first ten minutes of the match Tyrone gave up a penalty. The penalty shot slid right underneath Tyrone Keeper Alex Roberts giving Penns Valley the early lead.

Shortly after Tyrone sophomore Andrew Pearson tied the game up 1-1 from a shot on a corner. Soon after Andrew Pearson headed the ball past the keeper on a beautiful Corey Johnston assist to give Tyrone the lead.

But Tyrone wasn’t in the clear yet. Penns Valley scored an equalizing goal right before halftime to make the score 2-2.

Penns Valley quickly took the lead after a shot from outside the 18 soared into the corner of the net.

Tyrone struck back quickly and tied the game at 3-3 after sophomore Alex Schmoke scored the goal of the game on a marvelous strike 35 yards out.

Tyrone took the lead for the second time on a tap in scored by freshman Corey Johnston.

Following that goal Tyrone’s defense collapsed and Penns Valley went on to score 4 more goals in the remaining time.

Tyrone 1, Bald Eagle 6

Tyrone lost their 5th game in a row with 6-1 loss to Bald Eagle on Monday.

Tyrone scored their only goal within 15 minutes in the first. Senior Aaron Andrews floated the ball up to Andrew Pearson who was able to tap the ball into the back of the net while in mid-air.

Shortly after Bald Eagle equalized off a corner which was headed into the top right corner.

After the first half Tyrone lost any sort of momentum. Bald Eagle scored 5 more times in many different ways exploiting Tyrone’s mistakes on defense. The final score was 6-1.

Tyrone 2, Dubois 4

Tyrone lost to Dubois 4-2 in a cold end of the year scrimmage on Saturday.

Dubois struck first off a Tyrone keeper error making the score 0-1 ten minutes in.

Alex Schmoke fired back tying the score at 1-1 on a shot 30 yards out. Soon after Tyrone took the lead on a goal from freshman Corey Johnston.

Coming into the second half Tyrone had little morale left. Dubois capitalized on this and scored 3 goals to solidify a lead for the remainder of the second half.
