On a windy day in Bellefonte the Golden Eagle baseball team pick up their fifth win of the season against Saint Joseph’s Academy.

Each team scored a run in the second inning, but good pitching and good defense on both sides of the diamond resulted in no runs for the next five frames, forcing extra innings.

The great defense for the Golden Eagles was lead by senior Alex Weaver’s pitching. Weaver pitched a complete game, including an extra frame to seal the win. The senior righty struck out four and walked just two. Weaver only gave up five hits the entire game.

Even with Weaver’s great pitching and great defense the team still had to score runs against a solid Saint Joseph’s defense.

After a tie game at the end of the seventh inning the team headed into extra innings where three Golden Eagle players stepped up and delivered big hits to give the Golden Eagles the runs they needed. Cory Lehman, Nick Light, and Colson Lewis all delivered RBI singles get the Golden Eagles the victory.

The Golden Eagles improve their record to 5-10 on the season. There next game will be played at home this Friday against the defending state champions the Bellefonte Red Raiders.
