The Tyrone Area FFA Chapter Farmer’s Care Product Drive will accept donations until March 8, 2024. This initiative, spearheaded by Tyrone FFA ninth graders, supports the Ronald McDonald House of Pennsylvania.
“This all came about when Mrs. Hoy, our FFA Advisor, presented us with a challenge to work with a local stakeholder in conducting activities to articulate and promote agriculture programs to elicit action,” freshman and committee co-chair Gabby Dean said.
Freshman committee co-chair Kaitlyn Rockwell added, “We started with brainstorming and continued with writing SMART goals with plans to kick off the activity.”
Joe Diamond, Regional Organization Director, educated students on the impact of the PA Farm Bureau on farmers in the region and the U.S. The initiative includes interactive education presentations aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of agriculture careers.
