After a strong showing at the Blair County Public Speaking competition on March 13, seven members of the Tyrone Area FFA placed and advanced to the Bedford, Blair, and Fulton Area regional competition.
Tyrone competed against members from the Central Cove and Williamsburg FFA Chapters showcasing their public speaking skills.
Sophomore Cassiday Fleck excelled in the prepared category, securing first place.
Senior Nora Hoy took first and junior Frances Weaver earned second in the prepared conservation category.
Junior Gracie Graham delivered her speech in the Senior Prepared category, achieving a commendable second-place finish.
“It was scary at first, but the more I practiced my speech, the more comfortable I got with it. It ended up being a lot of fun in the end, and I would recommend for others to do it,” Graham said.
Junior Catherine Sklenar represented Tyrone Area FFA in the extemporaneous speaking event, where she placed second.
The competition also featured two freshmen presenting the FFA Creed, with Emmanuel Luebbert earning fourth place and Ryleigh Holmes following closely in fifth place.
The accomplishments of these dedicated members highlight the talent and commitment within the Tyrone Area FFA Chapter as they prepare for the upcoming area competition.
