Three Tyrone Wrestlers Advance to States
Four wrestlers placed at the southwest AA Southwest Regional Wrestling Tournament, and three placed high enough to qualify for the State Championship Tournament in Hershey.
Junior Korry Walls (106) only lost once and placed third at regionals.
Sophomore Braden Ewing (HWT) placed fourth at the tournament.
Senior Ashton Sipes (132) earned a fifth-place ranking and will also compete at states.
Sophomore Lukas Walk (138) also placed, finishing eighth but only the top six move on to the state tournament.
If not for an injury that forced him to withdraw in his second bout, freshman Logan Rumberger would have had a good chance to qualify for states.
