Following a 55-13 win over Central Cambria the Golden Eagles will travel to Penns Valley on Friday to battle the Rams.
In last year’s game against the Rams, quarterback Ashton Walk broke the single-game passing record by throwing for 360 yards.
Coached by Martin Tobias, the Rams are still winless at 0-8 but were very close to getting their first win last week against Somerset. The game was a shootout, ending in a final score of 56-42.
The Rams can clearly score points and it will be a challenge for the Tyrone defense to keep them off the scoreboard.
The Rams will mix the run and pass evenly, as they have 133 passing attempts throwing for 805 total yards and 125 rushing attempts for 204 yards.
Junior quarterback Carter Ironside leads the passing game, who has thrown for only 508 yards five touchdowns, and four interceptions through eight games.
On the receiving end of Carter Ironside’s passes are junior Fletcher Ironside who has hauled in 392 yards and three touchdowns on 27 receptions.
On the ground, the Rams will look to senior Chase Shelly who has 60 carries for 124 yards and a touchdown.
On the Tyrone side, this week, the Eagles will look to continue their streak of dominating opposing teams’ defenses. Through the last three games, they have scored 137 points and accumulated 1248 yards.
Transfer Trent Adams has shown that he is a key element in the offense as he has become one of quarterback Ashton Walk’s favorite targets. Through the last three games, Adams has put up 17 catches for 398 yards and seven touchdowns.
On the ground senior running back Seth Hoover has shown great skills as he ran for 119 yards and a 77-yard touchdown against Central Cambria.
