TAHS Cheerleaders Pink-Out Game on Friday

The TAHS Cheerleaders will hold their annual Pink Out game at Gray Memorial Field this Friday, September 23. Tyrone plays Bellefonte at 7:00 pm.

The Pink Out is held to raise money for the Tyrone Regional Health Network Breast Cancer Institute and to spread awareness about breast cancer.

“I think that it’s a great way for our community to come together for one cause,” said Tyrone senior cheerleader Cassie Friday, “pink out is an annual event that is sometimes overlooked, but what most people don’t realize is that there are real families going through the hardship of cancer and it affects their daily lives.”

The Tyrone cheerleaders have already raised over $1,000 in pink out t-shirt profits. The Cheerleader Boosters will sell assorted pink items at the front gate. Items available are pink glow bead necklaces, eye black breast cancer awareness tattoos, pink pom-poms, pink jewel ribbon tattoos and more.

The cheerleaders and football players will also wear pink to show their support for survivors and those fighting the disease. All fans are strongly encouraged to wear pink as well.

“I love the fact that we can get the student body and the community together to raise awareness for such an important cause. It allows you to stop thinking about yourself for once and respect those who have cancer,” said senior cheerleader Azia Barnett.
