The holidays will start this week at TAHS. The Tyrone concert band will hold their annual Christmas concert on Thursday, November 21, at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium.
There is no admission fee and all students and community members are invited to attend.
The band has been preparing and rehearsing these pieces since the beginning of the school year and are excited to present them to a live audience.
The senior high concert band will be combined with the seventh and eighth-grade concert bands for many of the pieces, allowing younger students to perform with older students and grow their potential with more difficult pieces.
The concert will include “Fantasia on ‘Christmas Comes Anew’” by Michael Story, “Autumn Fanfare” by Mekel Rogers, “Autumn Colors” By John O’Reilly, and “Somewhere In My Memory” from “Home Alone” by John William.
Along with these full group pieces, there will also be a smaller feature piece that a few students have put together themselves.
Senior Lola Brown, with freshmen Hannah Gable and Rachel Pedersen, will perform a trio piece on flute to “Be Thou My Vision” by Tyler Arcari during the concert.
This concert will also showcase the Tyrone Marching Band’s 2024 program “The Lost City” as their official last-ever performance of the show.
The Jazz band will also be performing at this concert.
