Eagle Eye: What college do you attend?

Maggie Stoltz : I attend Penn State at University Park. Go State!

EE: What are you majoring in?

MS: I’m majoring in secondary education with a focus on social studies. I’m also minoring in history.

EE: Where are you from?

MS: I am from Hollidaysburg, PA. So I am from the area. I’ve lived there my whole life except for college.

EE: Where did you go to high school?

MS: I went to Hollidaysburg Area High School and graduated in 2011.

EE: How was your high school different from ours?

MS:  My high school was a little bit bigger than Tyrone. I graduated in a class of about 300.

EE:  What made you want to become a teacher?

MS: I’ve always enjoyed history and learning new things. I hope to show my future students that it can be fun.

EE: How did you end up being a student teacher at Tyrone?

MS: Tyrone is just about halfway between Hollidaysburg and State College, so it’s the perfect location. I was able to be matched with Mrs. Burket teaching U.S History, the subject I would like to teach the most.

EE: What is your favorite subject? Why?

MS: My favorite subject is history. I also really like math, but i’m not very good at it.

EE: What are some of your hobbies or interests?

MS: I love dogs and like to volunteer at PAWS in State College. I spend way too much time on Pinterest and Netflix and I love Penn State football!

EE: Who is your role model? Why?

MS: My role model is my oldest sister because she is the most independent and determined person I know. It may not seem like it right now, but you will grow to truly appreciate your siblings. I also look up to Oprah – who doesn’t?!
