Student Council Food Drive Kicks Off on November 7
Members of Student Council will sponsor a food drive for Thanksgiving from Wednesday, November 7 to Monday, November 19, just in time for Thanksgiving break.
The students will collect food in advisory classes. A bag will be delivered to each room early next week for collections.
Twice a week, students will collect food items. Only canned goods and nonperishable items will be accepted.
Student Council will tally the number of items for each room separately. The advisory that contributes the most items will earn a free breakfast party for their advisory.
All food items will go to the Tyrone Food Bank to help people in need this time of the year. All contributions help; even just one item could save a family.
Every student is encouraged to participate in this great cause.
“This is the first year Student Council has done this and the members presented this idea solely on their own; it would be awesome for it to be a success,” said student council adviser Tiffany Smith.
