Record Broken by Wang at Second Swim Meet
An 11 year-old Tyrone record was broken by Bishop Guilfoyle’s exchange student Songmian Wang. Wang, who is from China, swam a 2:08.45 in the 200 individual medley, a second faster than the previous record set by Ethan Nulton in 2007.
“I am so glad I [broke the record]! I was very close to the record at [the] last meet, so coach and I did some work on my turns, which help[ed] me improve,” said Wang.
The girls crushed Penns Valley 107-49. Due to the fact that PV had no male swimmers, the Tyrone boys scored 124 points. Both teams records increase to a 2-0 winning streak.
