The main office at the high school has two administrative assistants that keep the school running smoothly. Mrs. Amanda Raup and Mrs. Kaytee Eckley are usually the first faces that visitors see when they enter the high school building.
Their responsibilities are many and stretch from tracking attendance to handling all bank deposits. They do so many things for the school that most students and staff don’t even realize the scope of their duties.
Raup and Eckley work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each school day, as well as on in-service days. Raup works during the school year, while Eckley works through the summer as well.
They are responsible for answering all calls from the public, taking care of attendance, setting up meetings, and answering questions from students, staff, and the public. Their list of responsibilities is long, but these ladies thrive at their jobs nonstop.
The main office has several community outreach students who help from period to period. These students deliver hall passes, run errands, and get to hang out with Mrs. Raup and Mrs. Eckley on a daily basis. They get to see firsthand all that the front office staff does for the school.
Senior Lukas Walk helps out during the first period and had only nice things to say about Raup and Eckley.
“They pour their heart and soul into their job to make everything run smoothly,” senior Luke Walk said.
Junior Logan Rumberger assists in the main office during the sixth period. According to Rumberger, the main office staff never fails to make people smile, even on a bad day.
“They always make room to ask how your day is and always give you a question for the day. I feel as many overlook what they do for this school, junior Logan Rumberger said.
No matter how stressful their day, they will always take the time to help students and staff. If students have questions they are always willing to answer.
