During Teacher Appreciation Week, a nationwide event held in the first week of May, teachers and staff are treated to a week in the spotlight for their dedication and hard work.
The Tyrone High School Student Council and volunteers from other community service clubs in the school, like YAN and Golden Revolution, each pick a teacher, and throughout the week, they present their designated teacher or staff member with small gifts, notes, and other tokens of appreciation.
At the end of the week, all the student volunteers and teachers are invited to a breakfast in the library, where the teachers learn the identity of their secret “pal.”
