NHS to Host Holiday Event for TAES Students
The TAHS National Honor Society will host a holiday event for pre-K to 4th graders on December 20th from 6 pm-8 pm at the Tyrone Area High School.
At the event, NHS students will run spaces with Christmas-themed crafts, activities, treats, and games for the children. It is open to all preschool and elementary students, fourth grade and under, and their families.
“The annual YAN Halloween event has truly become a big community event. It is one of the best events of the year. We would like NHS to do something similar to that for the Christmas season,” said NHS President Hailey Vanish.
Anyone who wishes to attend can meet Santa, play games, and make crafts with the members of the Tyrone National Honor Society.
“We will have Santa Claus and various games and crafts to help spread the Christmas cheer. This is a free event for the community,” said NHS Advisor Amanda Burega.
Some of the activities include a hot chocolate station, pictures with Santa, stocking decorating, a coloring contest, a Christmas card station, and more.
All 4th-grade students and under are welcome. The event is free to the public but donations are greatly appreciated.
A basket raffle will be held at the event to raise money for NHS and a local charity. The baskets will all range from different themes to include ever bodies taste and preferences. Some baskets will also include gift cards and certificates to local businesses such as The Brew Coffee and Taphouse and Gardners.
Make sure to come join the NHS members on December 20th from 6 pm-8 pm at the Tyrone Area High School for a fun and new holiday event. This event is for pre-K through 4th grade.
