On a night when Lady Eagle standout Sydney Shaw had a relatively quiet 11 points, Shaw’s younger sister Shannon broke out herself with 5 three-pointers and 17 points in a 61-40 victory over Bellefonte

Shannon Shaw wasn’t the only underclassmen to have a big game Friday night as freshman Jaida Parker matched Shaw’s 17 points.

The duo of Parker and the younger Shaw combined for 34 of Tyrone’s 61 points on the night.

The Lady Eagles were feeling it from three point range as they knocked down 9 triples on a overall exceptional shooting night for Tyrone.

The Lady Eagles had control of the game from the opening tip. They could not seem to miss as they dominated on both sides of the ball. As a result of the Lady Eagles first quarter spark they held 16-9 lead after the first quarter.

The spark that got the Lady Eagles going in the first quarter showed no signs of burning out in the second as they once again outscored the Red Raiders by a score of 17-11. After a dominating first half the Lady Eagles led 33-20.

In the third quarter the Lady Eagles offensive attack wavered off a little but their dominant defense held Bellefonte to only 9 points. After three quarters Tyrone held a strong 46-29 lead.

In the fourth quarter Tyrone slammed the door shut on Bellefonte outscoring them once again securing their 9th win of the season and yet another Mountain League victory.

With the win Tyrone’s record moves to 9-3 on the season with a 7-1 record in the Mountain League. Tyrone looks to grab Mountain League victory number 8 today as they play Penns Valley at home.
