The National Zoo that is located in Washington D.C. has more than 1500 animals across 300 species. The zoo was built in 1889, and is open 364 days a year. The zoo also has 163 acres in Washington D.C.’s park. Finally, the National Zoo has the largest museum and research complex. On the website you can watch live footage of the animals, and adopt an animal. Also, at the zoo you can take tours. The tours are from 9:45 am daily everyday. The zoo also has fun activities for children the National Zoo Choo Choo, Zoo Tubes, Tide Pool, and Speedwell Foundation Conservation Carousel. Some of the most popular animal is the giant panda, lions, and elephants.
