Music is in the air: TAHS Band and Chorus to hold holiday concerts
Come to the TAHS music department’s winter concerts
The snow is falling and that means it’s time for the TAHS Music Department’s annual winter concerts.
Both the instrumental and choral departments will perform separate concerts this holiday season to showcase their talents.
The band concert will be held in the high school auditorium on Thursday, December 4 at 7:00 pm, and it will feature the 7th and 8th grade concert band, the high school concert band, the jazz band, and the high school marching band.
According to band director David Hock, each group has been working hard this year to prepare their pieces and show their talents to the community.
The concert will end, as always, with a stand still performance from the marching band of their current season’s marching show and the fight song.
The Choral department’s concert will be on Sunday, December 14th at 2:00 pm, also in the high school auditorium.
The choral concert will feature the TAHS Concert Choir and Pops Extension, under the direction of Mrs. Laura Harris.
Both groups will be singing a selection of holiday songs and Pops will of course be performing choreographed numbers and if everything goes according to plan the girls of Pops will be sporting new dresses.
Whether you know someone in one of these groups or just want something to do come to the Music Department concerts and support your school’s music program.
