At the 96th annual FFA Mid-Winter Convention in Harrisburg on January 6, a record 1,369 iconic blue and corn gold corduroy FFA jackets were presented to new FFA members.
This was the largest single jacket order received by the National FFA Organization in history.
Sixteen members of the Tyrone Area FFA were among those receiving jackets, which were made possible by the generous support of the Pennsylvania FFA alumni and local sponsors.
The blue and gold jackets represent each member’s strong commitment to FFA and involvement in the agricultural community.
The following Tyrone Area FFA students proudly received their FFA jackets: Caleb Biter, Emanuel Luebbert, Eli Hunter, Ryleigh Holmes, Abigail Keyser, Nevaeh Hollabaugh, Sam Golden, Alex Sklenar, Camden Behrer, Adam Ray, Kaitlyn Rockwell, Jason Brownson, Evin Soellner, Alexis Martinez, Kaylee Little, and Angel Bertram.

The jackets are presented at the convention by the Pennsylvania FFA Alumni, a group dedicated to fostering opportunities, experiences, friendships, and personal growth throughout the school year, and helping FFA members create memorable experiences.
Over the past seventeen years, the Pennsylvania FFA Alumni Association has supported 7,127 Pennsylvania FFA members by providing them with the essential first step towards success: a National Blue and Corn Gold corduroy jacket.
Sherisa Nailor, the Pennsylvania FFA Alumni president, addressed the attendees, encouraging them to make thoughtful choices in and out of the blue and gold.
“Sometimes we get so caught up in the details of life that we forget that everything we do is building a life for ourselves,” Nailor said.
Tyrone Area FFA member Camden Behrer expressed his gratitude to the sponsors for the experience.
“It was an amazing experience and a milestone in my agricultural career,” Behrer said.
