Led by junior Brandon McClure’s outstanding complete game and a multi-hit game from his brother, Connor McClure, the Golden Eagles earned a 7-2 victory at Mount Union on Friday, March 21.
The win capped off an undefeated opening week for the Golden Eagles.
Tyrone senior Landon Hamer also had a multi-hit performance to highlight Tyrone’s offense.
Connor McClure has been red hot with the bat, posting a .500 batting average, while his brother Brandon has been dominant on the mound.
Going the distance is a tough feat on its own, but McClure did it in under 90 pitches. He only gave up two runs on eight hits, while striking out two and only walking just one batter.
The Golden Eagles’ defense has also been above par, only committing one error over the three-game span.
Tyrone’s record advances to 3-0, while Mt. Union’s record drops to 2-1
The Golden Eagles will take on the Bellefonte Red Raiders on Tuesday 3/25 at 4:30 pm.

This is great reporting on our Varsity team. But how about some reporting on the JV team?
