Tyrone Lady Eagles extended their win streak to 13 after defeating the Bellefonte Lady Red Raiders 39-24.

The Lady Eagles defense was strong in the opening half and held Bellefonte to only four points to their 24.

“Our shots weren’t falling but we certainly picked it up with our defense,” said sophomore Alexis Cannistraci. “It put us one step closer to our goal.”

Sophomore Kasey Engle led scorers with 19 points and junior Finnley Christine followed with eight.

Tyrone’s defense remained consistent throughout the third quarter as they held Bellefonte to only nine points.

“Defense was our strong area in our game,” said junior Marissa Sprankle. “We had a rough night on offense, but we picked it up.”

The Lady Eagles play Central Mountain tonight at home.
